New York

Welcome to the Big Apple! Take your passport and luggage and be ready to visit one of the most famous cities in the world!

Times Square

Foreground: lot of people = crowd, lively or animated place / traffic, yellow cabs (convenient).

Middle ground: ads on screens, billboards, neon signs, advertisement / famous brands, stores / Broadway: musicals, theaters.

Background: skyscrapers.

General impression: bright, enlightened, luminous place. "The City that never sleeps" because lights always on.

Broadway

Broadway: street near Times Square, full of theaters where famous musicals are produced and staged. To be very successful, a musical must be on Broadway. The tickets for these musicals are very expensive (from 70 to 270 dollars). Some of the most famous Broadway musicals + songs (my favourite one's "Wicked"):

The Phantom of the Opera: "Phantom of the Opera"

Wicked: "Defying Gravity"

Oklahoma!: "Oh What a Beautiful Morning!"

42nd Street: tap dance musical number

Singing in the Rain: "Singing in the Rain"

Chicago: "All that Jazz"
